Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of a self-designed traditional Chinese medicine prescription in the adjuvant treatment of diabetic nephropathy (DN) patients with Qi-yin deficiency and blood stasis. Methods A total of 96 DN patients with Qi-yin deficiency and blood stasis, who were treated in our hospital from Jan. 2017 to Aug. 2018 were selected, and they were divided into control group (n=48) and observation group (n=48) by the random number table method. The control group was treated with irbesartan tablets, and the observation group was treated with self-made traditional Chinese medicine on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), 24-hour urine protein (24hpro), fasting blood glucose (FPG) and postprandial 2-hour blood glucose (2hPG) levels of the two groups were compared before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of FPG and 2hPG in the both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of FPG and 2hPG in the observation group was significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The levels of Scr, 24hpro and BUN in the both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of Scr and 24hpro in the observation group was significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Also, there was no significant difference in BUN level between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion The self-designed traditional Chinese medicine prescription has a remarkable curative effect on the DN patients with Qi-yin deficiency and blood stasis syndrome ,which can effectively improve the levels of blood sugar indexes and protecting the kidney function of DN patients with Qi-yin deficiency and blood stasis.
