The Effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction on Patients with Severe Acute Pancreatitis in ICU

Abstract

Objective To analyze the effect of Chinese medicine decoction on patients with severe acute pancreatitis in intensive care unit. Methods Totally 86 SAP patients admitted to our hospital from March 2018 to March 2018 were selected and divided into control group and observation group, according to the random number table method. The patients in the control group received conventional treatment, while those in the observation group were further given Chinese medicine decoction treatment on the basis of control group. The clinical efficacy, symptom recovery time and changes of blood indexes were compared between the two groups. Results The total effectiveness rate in the observation group was greatly higher than that in the control group. The fasting time, bloating-dissipating time, antipyretic time and ICU retention time in the observation group were obviously shorter than those in the control group. The levels of diamine oxidase, D-lactate, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-alpha in patients after treatment were sharply lower than those before treatment, and the levels of DAO, D-lactate, IL-6 and TNF-α in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group. Conclusion Chinese medicine decoction can significantly improve the clinical efficacy of SAP patients, shorten the recovery time of symptoms, and promote the intestinal mucosal barrier function and reduce the inflammatory reaction.
