Abstract

Objective: To explore the clinical effect of Buqi Jiangu decoction combined with Fushanmei in the treatment of osteoporosis (OP) and its influence on bone metabolism and bone mineral density. Methods: 80 patients with OP admitted to our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received basic treatment and Fushanmei, and the observation group was treated with Buqi Jiangu decoction on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the serum levels of procollagen type I C-terminal propeptide (PICP), C-terminal cross-linking telopeptide of type I collagen (CTX) and osteocalcin (OC), bone mineral densities (BMDs) of the femoral neck, lumbar L1-L4 and greater trochanter, and adverse reactions such as fever, gastrointestinal tract reaction, belching before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum PICP and OC levels in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the CTX level in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the BMDs of femoral neck, lumbar L1-L4, and greater trochanter in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Compared with the treatment of OP with Fushanmei alone, Buqi Jiangu decoction combined with Fushanmei can significantly improve the clinical efficacy of OP patients, regulate bone metabolism related indicators, and improve BMD and symptoms of OP.
