Effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine Formula Assisted GP Chemotherapy on Serum Tumor Markers, Angiogenesis and Prognosis of Gallbladder Cancer

Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of traditional Chinese medicine formula assisted gemcitabine combined with cisplatin (GP) chemotherapy on serum tumor markers, angiogenesis and prognosis in patients with gallbladder cancer. Methods: A total of 80 patients with gallbladder cancer who were treated in our hospital from Jan. 2016 to May. 2018 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the observation group and control group by random number table method, each group had 40 patients. The control group was treated with GP chemotherapy, and the observation group was treated with FuZheng KangAi formula on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, serum tumor markers, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The objective remission rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05); after treatment, the levels of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cancer antigen 125 (CA125), soluble interleukin-2-receptors (sIL-2R) and VEGF in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of CEA, CA125, sIL-2R and VEGF in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); the number of myelosuppression cases in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the adverse reactions of diarrhea, nausea and vomiting between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: Traditional Chinese medicine assisted GP chemotherapy had good clinical effect on patients with gallbladder cancer, which can effectively reduce the levels of serum tumor markers in patients with gallbladder cancer, prevent tumor metastasis, alleviate the phenomenon of myelosuppression after chemotherapy with few adverse reactions.
