Clinical Study on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Treated by Traditional Chinese Medicine Combined with Electro-acupuncture

Abstract

Objective: The research analyzed the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine combined with electro-acupuncture in the treatment of PCOS. Method: A total of 88 PCOS patients treated in our hospital from Mar. 2017 to Mar. 2019 were selected as the research object. They were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, 44 cases in each group. The control group was treated with oral clomiphene, while the observation group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine combined with electro-acupuncture. The clinical efficacy, blood lipid level and sex hormone level were compared between the two groups. Result: After treatment, the total effective rate, ovulation rate and pregnancy rate in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and those of observation group were significantly lower than those of control group (P<0.05). The HDL-C level in the two groups was significantly higher than that before treatment (P<0.05), and that of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-forming hormone (FSH) and estradiol (E₂) in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels in observation group was significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Traditional Chinese medicine combined with electro-acupuncture had a good clinical effect on PCOS, which could significantly improve blood lipid level, effectively ameliorate internal secretion and elevate the ovulation rate and pregnancy rate of patients.
