Abstract

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of Lishi Qingre Tongqiao Formula on patients with rhinosinusitis after endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). Methods A total of 82 cases of rhinosinusitis patients treated with ESS in our hospital from January 2020 to August 2020 were selected, and were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group. The control group underwent routine treatment after operation, and the observation group was given the aerosol inhalation of the decoction of Lishi Qingre Tongqiao Formula on the basis of above treatments in the control group. We compared the symptom relief, the recovery of the nasal cavity and the transmission speed of nasal mucosal cilia between the two groups. Results Symptom scores of nasal congestion, headache, and reduced sense of smell in both groups were significantly lower than those in the preoperative period (P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); The observation group took shorter for competitive outcome of mucosa and epithelization, compared with the control group (P<0.05); both groups showed a higher transmission speed of nasal mucosal fiber comparing to pre-operation (P<0.05), and the speed was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05) Conclusion The treatment of Lishi Qingre Tongqiao Formula on patients with rhinosinusitis after ESS significantly relieved symptoms, promoted the recovery of the operative nasal cavity and improved the transmission speed of nasal mucosal cilia, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
